[km The Hood Canal Steelhead Supplementation Project aims to restore indigenous steelhead runs to the Skokomish River, Dewatto River, and Duckabush River. Supplementation of the wild population with native stocks of juvenile and adult fish has been proven as a viable option for augmenting a small population in a conservation context. A vital part of determining its effectiveness involves monitoring baseline, treatment and post treatment smolt abundance. 6b. Describe the purpose of the project and why you want or need to perform it. h[ ell The proposed work is for research and management purposes and encompasses juvenile fish composition, population and productions measurements, evaluation of fish passage improvements, and evaluations of habitat modifications, as well as monitoring and evaluating supplementation efforts. 6c.
