A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR AN ELECTION TO CONSIDER INCREASING THE
GOVERNING BOARD OF MASON COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT NO , 5 FROM
THREE TO FIVE COMMISSIONERS :
WHEREAS , the Board of Fire Commissioners of Mason County Fire Protection District No . 5
submitted Resolution No . 223 to the Board of Mason County Commissioners requesting the county
legislative authority call a special election to increase the number of fire commissioners from three to five ;
WHEREAS , RCW 52 , 14 . 015 states that " Upon receipt of the resolution , the legislative authority or
authorities of the county or counties shall call a special election to be held within the fire protection district
at which election the following proposition shall be submitted to the voters substantially as follows . . . "
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED , that the Board of Mason County Commissioners directs
the Auditor to conduct a special election , in accordance with RCW 52M 14 . 015 to be held within Fire
Protection District No . 5 , at a time mutually acceptable to the Auditor and Board of Fire Commissioners of
Mason County Fire District No . 5 at which election the following proposition shall be submitted to the
voters substantially as follows :
Shall the Board of Commissioners of Mason County Fire Protection District No . 5 be increased
from three members to five members ?
