RESOLUTION NO , 93 - 99
A Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of Mason County, State of Washington,
setting forth the "Mission Statement" and the "Goals, " as identified by the Board of
Commissioners for Mason County for the Citizens Advisory Committee participating in the
" 6 Year Transportation Improvement Program - Citizens Advisory Program (TIP - CAP) . "
WHEREAS , a public hearing on the adoption of the 2000-2005 Transportation Improvement
Program will be required in accordance with RCW 36 . 81 . 121 and WAC 136 . 16 . 010 ; and
WHEREAS , the Board of Commissioners recognizes the need and the added value associated
with public involvement during the preparation of the 6 Year Transportation Improvement
Program; and
WHEREAS , the County has received and processed a number of applications from local citizens
expressing a desire to participate in a Citizens Advisory Program for the 6 Year Transportation
Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS , the Board of Commissioners for Mason County has appointed three individuals
from each of the County Commissioner' s Districts to act as the Primary Representatives in the
TIP - CAP process; and
WHEREAS , the Board of Commissioners for Mason County is committed to provide the
aforementioned Citizens with the support and the information necessary to successfully
accomplish their task; and
WHEREAS , the Board of Commissioners for Mason County believes that ultimately it will be
very beneficial to all parties involved to clearly define at the beginning of the process the desired
work product expected from the TIP - CAP ,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Mason County, State of
Washington, as follows :
SECTION I : The Board of Mason County Commissioners hereby defines the Mission
Statement of the TIP - CAP as follows :
The mission of the TIP-CAP is to act in an advisory role that will assist Mason County
and the project team in balancing community needs and financial concerns during the
process of developing the 6 Year Transportation Improvement Program.
SECTION H : The Board of Mason County Commissioners hereby establishes the Goals for the
TIP -CAP as follows :
• To assist the project team in developing a 6 Year Transportation Improvement Program
that is consistent and equitable in its application and flexible to changes in the environment
to serve the present and future transportation needs of Mason County .
• To assist the project team in preparing a 6 Year Transportation Improvement Program
which balances project purpose, community needs and financial constraints .
ADOPTED this 17th day of August, 1999 .
