A RESOLUTION approving a petition to annex property into Fire Protection District No , 2 .
WHEREAS , the Mason County Auditor has certified that over 15 % of qualified registered
electors residing in the territory described below have petitioned for annexation into Fire
Protection District No . 2 , in accordance with RCW 52 . 04 :
Section 8 , Township 22 North , Range 2 WWM and Section 7 , Township 22 North , Range
2 WWM , Excepting the West One- Half ( 1 /2 ) of the Southwest One-Quarter ( 1 /4 ) thereof,
all situated in Mason County , Washington .
WHEREAS , in accordance with RCW 52 . 04 and RCW 52 . 02 a notice of hearing was
published for three consecutive weeks in the official paper of the County and posted for not less
than fifteen days prior to the date of the hearing in three public places within the boundaries of the
proposed district ; and
WHEREAS , a public hearing was held on Tuesday , January 26 , 1999 and it was
determined that it will be conducive to the public safety , welfare , and convenience to approve the
petition to annex the above described contiguous property into Fire Protection District No . 2 ;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED , that the Board of Mason County Commissioners
hereby approves the petition for annexation into Fire Protection District No . 2 for the above
described territory and submits this resolution to the Board of Fire Commissioners to request the
County Auditor to call a special election .
