The applicant is proposing a 3-bedroom home and small mushroom/cannabis business. The
business may include 4-5 employees which are likely to include members of home. A separate
structure may include an office, break area w/small kitchen, and restroom for the employees.
Any waste flow from said break area will be directed to the OSS. Any flows pertaining to the
mushroom/cannabis production/processing will not be directed to the OSS,therefore waste
strength is not anticipated to exceed residential strengths.
The EPA Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems Manual Table 3-4 provides an estimated range
of 7-16 gpd per industrial employee. The proposed bathroom use and small amount of dish
washing from employees should remain within this range.
3 Bedroom Home (up to 6 occupants) 360 gpd
5 Employees @ 16 gpd ea. 80 gpd
Total Estimated Flow 440 gpd
Daily Designed Flow 480 gpd
The proposed system is required to have annual inspections per Mason County and Washington
State Code. The designer encourages
