A RESOLUTION deferring certain permit fees for repair work necessitated by the
earthquake of February 28 , 2001
WHEREAS , the Mason County area sustained an earthquake on February 28 , 2001 at a
level of 6 . 8 on the Richter Scale ; and
WHEREAS , the earthquake caused damage to structures within the county; and
WHEREAS , the county has been declared a disaster area; and
WHEREAS , the County Commission finds it appropriate to offer assistance to the public
repairing damage caused by the earthquake ;
NOW, THEREFORE , be it hereby resolved by the Mason County Board of
Commissioners that building permit fees and plan review fees for earthquake related
repairs , as determined by the Building Official, may be deferred by the Building Official
until receipt of FEMA or insurance proceeds by the permit applicant. Said policy shall be
in effect until July 31 , 2001 . p
