Continuing Ord. 73-02 Interim Amendment to Mason County Code 8.52.190 ORDINANCE NUMBER 91 - 02 CONTINUATION OF ORDINANCE 73 -02, AN INTERIM AMENDMENT TO MASON COUNTY CODE 8 , 52 , 190 (M) (5 ) WHEREAS , the Mason County Board of Commissioners has of established a single body to replace its advisory groups in order to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the advisory process to the benefit of all parties and in response to changes in state law that combined the Washington Growth Management Act and the Shoreline Management Act and ; WHEREAS , the planning commission is required to review Mason County Resource Ordinance applications prior to action of the Board of Commissioners, and that role shall be fulfilled by the newly created Planning Advisory Commission, but interim ordinance 73 -02 allows the Board to act without the recommendations of the advisory group, and ; WHEREAS , public has a need for timely processing of permits, and timely processing is a goal of Mason County and of the Growth Management Act, but the newly created Planning Advisory Commission needs time to organize itself and establish its function, and this interim provision meets both of those needs ; NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF MASON COUNTY DO HEREBY ORDAIN as follows : Section 1 . Adoption of Interim ordinance number 73 - 02 is affirmed and continued until August 1 , 2002 Section 2 . The attached findings of fact are approved . DATED this 9th day of July, 2002 .
