A RESOLUTION relating to the intention of the Board of Mason County Commissioners to
condemn certain property within Mason County for public use .
WHEREAS , the property described below is necessary in order to provide sufficient land for the
realignment of Mason County Road No . 14010 , known as the Old Olympic Highway ; and
WHEREAS , the use of the land in question is a public use ; and
WHEREAS , the property to be acquired is necessary to said public use ; and
WHEREAS , the County has been unable to reach an agreement with the property owners of that
certain parcel described below with respect to the purchase thereof, and
WHEREAS , pursuant to Chapter 8 . 08 RCW, Mason County has the authority to condemn
property within the County for public use .
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MASON COUNTY that it is necessary for county purposes to acquire a
portion of the following described premises :
* * * That portion of parcels described in Quit Claim Deed recorded February 19 , 1997 , under
Auditor' s File No . 642121 , to Richard P . Hovde , as his separate estate , said parcels being a
portion of Northwest quarter of Section 20 , Township 19 North, Range 3 West, W . M . , described
as follows :
EXCEPTING THEREFROM road rights-of-way .
Said portion is more particularly described as follows :

Beginning at a point opposite Highway Engineer station (hereinafter referred to as HES )
180+77 . 5 on the centerline of County Road Project 1598 Old Olympic Highway 43 . 7 feet
northerly therefrom, when measured at right angles and or radially thereto ; thence northerly to a
point opposite HES 180+77 . 5 and 85 . 00 feet northerly therefrom; thence westerly along a non-
tangent curve to the left, the radius point of which bears S 10 ° 11 ' 05 " W 775 . 00 feet (HES
180+77 . 53 670 . 00 feet left) through a central angle of 06 ° 12 ' 18 " a curve distance of 81 . 76 feet to
a point opposite HES 181 +50 and 85 . 00 feet northerly therefrom ; thence southerly to a point
opposite HES 181 +50 and 55 . 00 feet northerly therefrom ; thence westerly along a non-tangent
curve to the left, the radius point of which bears S 03 ° 58 ' 47 " W 725 . 00 feet (HES 181 + 50 ,
670 . 00 feet left) through a central angle of 0496 ' 33 " a curve distance of 54 . 10 feet to a point
opposite HES 182+00 and 55 . 00 feet northerly therefrom ; thence southerly to a point opposite
HES 182+00 and 40 feet northerly therefrom ; thence westerly along a non-tangent curve to the
left, the radius point of which bears S 0097 ' 45 " E 710 . 00 feet (HES 182+00 , 670 . 00 feet left)
through a central angle of 03 ° 06 ' 39 " a curve distance of 38 . 55 feet to a point opposite HES
182+36 . 38 and 40 . 00 feet northerly therefrom and the end of this line description .
AND
Beginning at a point opposite Highway Engineer station (hereinafter referred to as HES ) 183 +00
on the centerline of County Road Project 1598 Old Olympic Highway 50 . 46 feet northerly
therefrom, when measured at right angles and or radially thereto ; thence northerly to a point
opposite HES 183 +00 and 60 . 00 feet northerly therefrom ; thence westerly to a point opposite
HES 183 +58 . 10 and 60 . 00 feet northerly therefrom and the end of this line description .
The specific details of which may be found on that certain map of definite location, entitled
County Road Project # 1598 , Old Olympic Highway , and bearing date of approval of August 13t" ,
2002 , on file in the office of the Mason County Engineer in Mason County, Washington .

The total amount of right-of--way acquired by this instrument is 0 . 13acres .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED , that the Board of County Commissioners , finding that it is
unable to reach agreement with the owner for the purchase of the property described herein,
hereby requests the Prosecuting Attorney of Mason County to petition the Superior Court
pursuant to Chapter 8 . 08 RCW for the acquisition of such property by means of a condemnation
action .
