Approving 2004 Title III Project RESOLUTION NO .�`71 t APPROVING 2004 TITLE III PROJECT UNDER SECURE RURAL SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY SELF-DETERMINATION ACT OF 2000 PUBLIC LAW 106-393 WHEREAS, Public Law 106- 393 was approved by Congress "( 1 ) To stabilize payments to counties to provide funding for schools and roads that supplements other available funds . (2) To make additional investments in, and create additional employment opportunities through, projects that improve the maintenance of existing infrastructure , implement stewardship objectives that enhance forest ecosystems , and restore and improve land health and water and water quality . 1 . (3 ) To improve cooperative relationships among the people that use and care for Federal lands and the agencies that manage these lands . " WHEREAS, the Mason County 4-1-1 Forestry Leadership Program meets the criteria for projects under Title III of Public Law 106-393 , and the program has been very successful in reaching youth in Mason County . NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Mason County Commissioners does hereby approve the Mason County 4-H Forestry Leadership Program as Mason County ' s Title III project for 2004 . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Mason County will fund the Mason County 4-H Forestry Leadership Program from Federal Secure Rural Schools and Community Self.
