AMENDMENTS TO THE MASON COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT FEE ORDINANCE #2-07
AN ORDINANCE amending the Mason County Department of Community Development Fee
Ordinance, Mason County Code Chapter 1.10, last amended as Ordinance #2-07.
WHEREAS, under consideration are amendments to the Mason County Department of
Community Development Fee Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, this chapter was created for the purpose of establishing fee amounts for recovery
costs related to administrative services required for processing various land use peiniits, actions,
and approvals in order to provide for the efficient and effective administrative services provided by
the Mason County department of community development's planning division; and
WHEREAS, the Hearing Examiner fees are collected whenever a public hearing and review by
the Hearing Examiner is required by county code and the fees are intended only to cover the
average cost of the Hearing Examiner services; and
WHEREAS, a review of the actual cost billed by the Hearing Examiner for peiluit reviews and
heanngs for January through June 2007 shows that the fee currently adopted by the county to
cover the costs is significantly less than the cost incurred; and
WHEREAS, the Board finds that the fees proposed are appropriate to recover the costs of the
Hearing Examiner review as intended to provide for the efficient and effective administration of
the county's development regulations; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held to receive public comment and the had a reasonable
opportunity to review the proposed changes prior to the hearing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED, the Mason County Board of Commissioners
hereby approves and ADOPTS the new fee categories and revised fees for the Hearing Examiner
Hearings in the Mason County Code Section 1 10.020, and Mason County Ordinance #2-07, to be
effective on November 19, 2007, as follows:
