MEETING MINUTES
March 20, 2012
Attendance: Ned Kjeldgaard, Jean Farmer, Heidi McCutcheon, Mark Woytowich, Beverly Voss-
Petredis and Steve Bloomfield were in attendance. Brian Cook was absent.
1. The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:05 p.m.
2. Farmer/Woytowich moved and seconded to approve the December 12, 2011
regular meeting minutes. Motion carried.
3. Annual review of Committee membership per RCW 67.28.1817.
Ms. Farmer brought up the criteria for LTAC membership. Cmmr. Bloomfield will look into
the committee composition.
Ms. McCutcheon distributed copies of the RCW that explains what the lodging tax can be
used for.
4. Reconsider Lodging Tax Grant Applications Returned for Clarification
4.1. Union Tourism Association
4.1.1.Union Traveler Days, $8,885. There was a discussion of the event. Pam Hanson,
applicant, was in attendance and answered questions.
Mr. Woytowich noted that $5,000 seems to be the common award for a 2-day
event.
Woytowich/McCutcheon moved and seconded to award $5,000 to Union
Tourism Association for Union Traveler Days event. Motion carried.
4.1.2.Union PumpkinFest, $8,885. There was a discussion of the event. Pam Hanson,
applicant, was in attendance and answered questions.
Woytowich/McCutcheon moved and seconded to award $5,000 to the
Union Tourism Association for the Union PumpkinFest. Motion carried.
4.2.Hood Canal Highland Celtic Festival, $6,000.
Information was received on where the attendees come from. The group was asked to
consider a different date, and the applicant responded that would be virtually impossible
because there is an established schedule of Scottish events throughout the area.
McCutcheon/Kjeldgaard moved and seconded to award $5,000 to the Hood Canal
Highland Celtic Festival.
There was discussion of the award amount.
McCutcheon/Kjeldgaard moved and seconded to amend the award to $3,500
to the Hood Canal Highland Celtic Festival. Motion carried.
4.3.Anna's Bay Center for Music, $4,440. There was a discussion of the event.

Farmer/McCutcheon moved and seconded to award $4,440 to Anna's Bay
Center for Music. Motion carried.
5. New Lodging Tax Grant Applications
5.1. Shelton-Mason County Journal —Visitors Guide and Oysterfest Programs.
Woytowich noted that there was a lot of paid advertising in the Visitors Guide and
Oysterfest Program and that the Oysterfest Program is distributed shortly before the
event.
The LTAC denied any award for the Visitors Guide and Oysterfest Programs.
5.2. Shelton Skookum Rotary Club — OysterFest Website Upgrade.
There was discussion of the proposal. The members agreed the OysterFest is a great
event, well established and they do generate a large amount of revenue.
Voss-Petred is/Woytowich moved and seconded to deny any award to the
Shelton Skookum Rotary Club for the Oysterfest Website Upgrade. Motion
carried.
6. Schedule next meeting date. There is no meeting scheduled at this time.
7. Ms. McCutcheon asked that the LTAC create a standardized process to collect criteria from
the events. There was discussion of how the criteria could be collected.
8. The meeting adjourned at 3:15 p.m.
