1. Call to Order—The Chairperson called the special meeting to order at 1:00 p.m.via Zoom.
2. Cmmr.Neatherlin led the pledge of allegiance.
3. Roll Call—Present: Present: Commissioner District 1 —Randy Neatherlin;Commissioner District 2—
Kevin Shutty; Commissioner District 3—Sharon Trask.
4. Correctional Officers Retention Bonus
Mark Neary shared that this is an opportunity to recognize and attempt to retain staff at the Sheriff s
Office Corrections facility. There has been a significant problem attracting and retaining staff in the
jail. Corrections is a 24/7 operation dependent on the population of inmates. A retention bonus will
encourage staff to stay with the County and provide essential services. The$1 Ok bonus will be paid
utilizing American Rescue Plan Act(ARPA)funds to all current employees in Corrections that are
not under the hiring incentive bonus. This program will be specific to Corrections deputies,
sergeants, and corporals. The$1 Ok will be paid in quarterly installments—July 10,2022;October 10,
2022;January 10,2023; and April 10,2023. Employee must be employed on the installment date to
receive the bonus.
Cmmr.Neatherlin/Trask moved and seconded to adopt the Correction's Officer retention
bonus program as outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding(MOU)with the
Woodworkers Local Lodge W38 I.A.M. Motion carried unanimously. N-aye; S-aye; T-aye.
The Commissioners shared their appreciation for the Correction's Officers.
5. Adjournment—The meeting adjourned at 1:10 p.m.
