Amending Res. 77-05 Construction Project Change Order PolicyRESoLUTToN NUMsnR 4"1 - o1 AMENDING RESOLUTION 7 7 -05 Mason County Construction Project Change Order Policy for Public'Works, Utility and Waste Management and X'acilities & Grounds / Parks Departments WIEREAS, it is usual and normal to expect change orders in the course of construction projects; and WI{EREAS, for the efficient and timely management of such projects it is beneficial to establish a policy for change order approvals; NOW TIIEREFORE, BE IT IIEREBY RESOLVED BY the Mason County Board of Commissioners, that the County Engineer, Directors of Public Works, Utilities and Waste Management, and Facilities and GroundslParks are hereby authorized to approve change orders within the scope of the original contract as follows: 1. For contracts less than $250,000, any conhact change order, which does not exceed a cumulative total of20 percent ofthe original approved contract.2. For contracts from $250,000 to $500,000, any contract change order, which does not exceed a cumulative total of 15 percent of the original approved contract.3. For contracts greater than $500,000, any contract change order, which does not exceed a cumulative total of 10 percent ofthe original approved contract. BE IT FURTIIER RESOLVED that in the event the delay in processing an approval of a change order in excess ofthe above amounts by the Commissioners would create a significant public safety concem or subject the county to excessive additional costs, the Directors are authorized to approve the change order on behalf of the Commissioners and, subsequently, timely notif, the Commissioners of the action taken and the circumstances involved.
