A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A MASON COUNTY CITIZEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR THE
UPDATING OF THE COMPREHENSIVE SHORELINE MASTER PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Scope of Work for the SMA Grant Agreement No.G1100004 between the State
of Washington Department of Ecology and MASON COUNTY indicates that Mason County and
the City of Shelton wi[[ update their respective Comprehensive Shoretine Master Programs
cooperatively; and
WHEREAS, the Scope of Work indicates that the Shoreline Master Program update within the
Shelton Urban Growth Area shatl be established for Mason County; and
WHEREAS, these SMP Regutations shall estabtish and define shoreline regulations within the
Shetton Urban Growth area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Shelton and Mason County shall be jointty represented on this
Committee; and
WHEREAS, this Committee witl consist of a diverse group of citizens with the necessary
training, background, experience, expertise, and interest to identify key technical issues to
be addressed in the drafting of the SMP update for the City of Shetton, the City's UGA, and
Mason County; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE lT RESOLVED by the Board of Mason County Commissioners that a Mason
County Joint Advisory Committee for the update of the SMP shatt be estabtished and that the
County Commissioners together with the Commissioners of the City of Shelton shatl appoint
the members and chairperson;
BE lT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Committee shall be charged with working with City and County
Staff in the drafting of the Shoreline Master Program. The Committee's term shall end on
June 29, 2013 unless extended by the County and City Commissioners.
