Resolution amending County Code Chpt. 1.12, Voting Precincts, to adopt Mason County Commission
Redistricting Plan and corresponding precinct boundaries
Whereas, RCW 29A. 76.010 requires the Mason County Commission to redistrict its internal
County Commissioner Districts based on the population information from the most recent federal
census data, and task was delegated to the County Auditor's Office for facilitation, and;
Whereas, the County Auditor comprised a Redistricting Advisory Committee representing
various community interests to develop three plans to present to the Commission that would serve the
best interests of Mason County citizens, and;
Whereas, recent legislation allowed the number of registered voters to increase in each
precinct, the Auditor requested the Advisory Committee to incorporate the creation of new precinct
boundaries that would correspond with each Commissioner District Plan presented, and;
Whereas , a public hearing regarding the redistricting options that were presented to the
Commission was held at least one week prior to the selection and adoption of a plan, and;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED: That the Mason County Board of County
Commissioners hereby approve and adopt plan number two and its corresponding voting precincts as
set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto.
