J:1.-) ~ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING RESOLUTION 55-87 AND 35-92 CHANGING THE SPEED LIMIT ON PLANTATION WAY IN MASON COUNTY WHEREAS, the Revised Code of Washington RCW 46.61.415 permits local authorities to establish or alter maximum legal speed limits pursuant to RCW 46.61.400 on County road within their jurisdiction based on engineering and traffic investigation; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 10.04 of the Mason County Code the Board of County Conunissioners, by ordinance, may raise or lower a speed limit on any county road, except raising above fifty miles per hour. 'WHEREAS, Mason County previously established alternate speed limits for Plantation Way on July 21, 1987 under Resolution 55-87 and again on March 17, 1992 under Resolution 35-92. WHEREAS, the Mason County Public Works Department has conducted an engineering and traffic investigation on Plantation Way; and WHEREAS, County Commissioners held a public hearing and received public testimony regarding the speed limit on Plantation Way. THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, after due deliberation and in the best interest of the public hereby adopts the speed limit posting for the entirety of Plantation Way as follows: ROAD NO. 34150 ROAD NAME Plantation Way SPEED 20 M.P.-M.P. 0.00-0.56 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED Al'l'D ORDERED, that this Ordinance amends the p01tion of Resolution 55-87 and Resolution 35-92 pertaining to Plantation Way. Speed limit is effective inunediately as shown and the County Engineer is directed to erect the necessary signs in confonnity herewith. DATED this~ofrf 0teiM016.
