Attendance: Sue Ickes, Chair and William Kendrick, Commissioner Others: Tami Beyer, Sheryl Hilt, Deb Gould, and Becky Rogers. Business: 1. Approval of Minutes: February 17, 2022 regular meeting minutes and March 4, 2022 special meeting minutes. Cmmrs. Kendrick/Ickes moved and seconded to approve the February 17, 2022 regular meeting minutes and the March 4, 2022 special meeting minutes. Motion carried unanimously. 2. Chief Examiner Update 2.1. Position Tracking - 12 vacant funded positions: Community Service Officer-3; Corrections Deputy-5; Deputy Sheriff-2; and Support Specialist 2(aka Records Specialist)- 2 2.2. Approval to call a special meeting for April 7, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. and cancel the April 21, 2022 regular meeting. Cmmrs. Kendrick/Ickes moved and seconded to approve calling for a special meeting on April 7, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. and canceling the April 21, 2022 regular meeting. Motion carried unanimously. 2.3. Approval to set a public hearing on April 7, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. to consider a revision to Civil Service Rules 7.1 relating to Establishment of Eligibility Lists, to add G. CJTC Certified for corrections deputies and deputy sheriff. Cmmrs. Kendrick/Ickes moved and seconded to approve setting a public hearing on April 7, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. to consider a revision to Civil Service Rules 7.1 relating to Establishment of Eligibility Lists to add G. CJTC Certified for corrections deputies and deputy sheriff Motion carried unanimously. 2.4. Approval to use International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR) for Entry Level Corrections Deputy testing through 2022, on a trial basis. Deb Gould, Human Resources Director, stated the county would like to try something different to speed up the process of obtaining candidates. This would be used in conjunction with the Public Safety Testing. Cmmrs. Kendrick/Ickes moved and seconded to approve use IPMA-HR for Entry Level Corrections Deputy testing through 2022, on a trial basis Motion carried unanimously. 2.5. Certification of Names on Eligibility Lists - Lateral & Entry Level - Ms. Rogers reported back from the last meeting concerning maximizing the number of certified names to fill vacant positions in patrol. The patrol has two vacant positions and two resignation letters. These are considered as four vacancies. Up to five names will be certified, if available. The remaining three vacant positions would have seven names certified from the entry level eligibility. Drawing from two lists would provide a maximum of 12 certified names. 3. Sheriff's Office Update 3.1. Corrections - No additional information. 3.2. Patrol - No additional information. 3.3. Support Staff - Chief Beyer reported that a former employee was hired as extra help, effective March 16, 2022. One records candidate is in background. It was requested if they could have a continuous eligibility list for the support staff. This would enable staff to accept applications on a continuous basis, and test as necessary. Staff will research to see if it requires revising the Civil Service Rules. 4.
