Meeting Minutes
November 18, 2021
The regular meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. virtually by Chairperson Ickes.
Attendance: Susan Ickes, Chair; William Kendrick, Vice-Chair; Mark Nault,
Commissioner
Others: Tami Beyer, Sheryl Hilt, Ryan Spurling, and Becky Rogers.
Business:
1. Approval of Minutes: October 21, 2021 regular meeting minutes.
Cmmrs. Kendrick/Nault moved and seconded to approve the October 21, 2021 regular meeting minutes.
Motion carried unanimously.
2. Chief Examiner Update
2.1. Position Tracking - 11 vacant funded positions: Corrections Deputy-7; Patrol-
2; and Records Specialist-2.
2.2. Records Specialist Eligibility List Status
2.3. Corrections Corporal Eligibility List- Promotional
3. Sheriff's Office Update
3.1. Corrections - No additional information other than the vacancies noted above.
3.2. Patrol - Chief Spurling talked about some matters within the Patrol Division:
Staffing Level - Discussed the staffing level covering the rotation of staff on
the streets 24/7. In addition to the two vacant positions, staffing levels are
reduced due to military leave, modified leave, training, and sick leave.
The Commission members expressed their appreciation and support of the
work accomplished by the staff.
In-Car & Body Cameras - The County Commissioners approved nearly
$800,000 to obtain in-car and body cameras. Commissioned and partially-
commissioned deputies are provided a body camera. Each Sheriff's vehicle
has an in-car camera installed. It is anticipated the training will be completed
this week.
COVID 19 - There are staff who caught COVID, some staff have been
vaccinated and some of the staff have caught COVID and obtained the
vaccine.
K-9 Unit - They have four active K-9's. One K-9 for each of the four shifts.

2022 Budget - Sheryl Hilt commented that $6K has been requested for the K-
9 Program in 2022. Approximately $255,000+ state funding has been
received to purchase equipment to implement the laws passed in 2021.
3.3. Support Staff - Chief Beyer reported they are reviewing the certified
candidates on the eligibility list for consideration to fill the two vacant Record
Specialist positions.
4. Adjourn - The meeting adjourned at 5:20 p.m.
