Letter to File:
The Hama Hama Company soil waste disposal site is still in operation, receiving waste
soils from offsite sources. Tom James has become the operations manager for the soil
waste site and his contact information is contained in the letterhead. The main contributor
to the waste soils being delivered to the site has been the delivery of WSDOT highway
ditch cleaning spoils and isolated landslide soils.
Semi-annual compliance reporting is required by the grading permit identified above. This
report covers the site's operation generally from February of this year to the present
through the month of August. During the past six months,there has been very little activity
at the waste site and the volume of waste soils received at the waste site is estimated at less
then 100 cubic yards.
The site remains in good condition and is in compliance with the requirements set forth in
the grading and stormwater plans developed for the site by Mr. Marley Young, PE,the
original engineer retained by the Hama Hama Company to acquire the permits needed to
operate the waste site. The access route and the site itself are maintained in functional
conditions. All stormwater control facilities are operating as intended and designed.
No restoration activities have been done to date because work is still in progress. The intent
of this letter is to keep the file on this project on an active status with the Planning and
Building Departments. Please feel free to contact me if there are any concerns or questions
regarding this report, or the ongoing operation of the Hama Hama Company soil waste site.
