Specifically, this report addresses the future foundation bearing soils located within the backfill of the recently constructed foundation wall. The site visit was conducted on September 17, 2015 by Michael Staten with Envirotech in order to observe the soil conditions,and test the compacted backfill. The bearing stratum was field measured to be dense and meets 95%compaction of the standard Proctor. Relative density was assessed by measuring the resistance of hand tools within areas of the planned foundation. All foundations must be constructed per the approved designs and specifications. This includes structurally tying the new footing ends into the existing foundation wall.Excessive free moisture should be prevented from entering the foundation excavation prior to the placement of concrete. If excessive moisture is permitted within the excavation, or the founding subgrade is significantly disturbed prior to constructing the concrete footings,an additional geotechnical inspection is required.
