Call Meeting to Order: 5:07 PM
Roll Call: Commissioners Dean Byrd, Chair, Brian Kelly, Vice-Chair, Danielle Skeeters-
Lindsey, Chief Examiner Dawn Twiddy, Chief Jan Shepherd, Chief Russ Osterhout
Business:
A. Commissioners Skeeters Lindsey/Kelly moved and seconded to approve
the regular meeting minutes of February 18 and March 17, 2016. Motion
carried with all in favor.
B. Chief Examiner Update—
a. There was a discussion about open positions, testing and the status of
vacancies being filled.
b. There was a discussion about promotional testing for the corporal and
sergeant positions for both corrections and patrol. Chief Examiner
Twiddy reviewed the testing process,job postings and the associated
costs.
Commissioners Kelly/Skeeters Lindsey moved and seconded to approve the
names of the top 6 candidates,based on their written exam score,on the
Corrections Deputy Corporal Eligibility List to advance to the assessment
center exam phase to be considered for the position of corporal. Motion
carried with all in favor.
Commissioners Skeeters Lindsey/Kelly moved and seconded to approve the
names of the top 6 candidates,based on their written exam score,on the
Corrections Deputy Sergeant Eligibility List to advance to the assessment
center exam phase to be considered for the position of sergeant. Motion
carried with all in favor.
Commissioners Skeeters Lindsey/Kelly moved and seconded to approve the
names of the top 6 candidates,based on their written exam score,on the
Patrol Deputy Corporal Eligibility List to advance to the assessment center
exam phase to be considered for the position of corporal. Motion carried
with all in favor.

Commissioners Skeeters Lindsey/Kelly moved and seconded to approve the
names of the top 6 candidates,based on their written exam score,on the
Patrol Deputy Sergeant Eligibility List to advance to the assessment center
exam phase to be considered for the position of sergeant. Motion carried
with all in favor.
c. There was a discussion about adding preference points to the Civil
Service Rules for local residents and reserve officers. It was agreed
upon that the process and language needed more research before
holding a public hearing.
C. Sheriff's Office Update—There was no further discussions
