Mike Byrne of General Services GENERAL SERC$ PO Box 186 Shelton, WA 98584 SR 3 MP 25.57 Lt. Belfair Assembly of God Church E.C. File No. 88177-M Dear Mr. Byrne: We have received your request for review of the above proposal and offer the following comments: The Department desires to provide safe access to the State highway system for this proposal along with operating conditions that adequately serve the needs of the general traveling public. There is currently an existing access serving the church. With the addition of another access to SR 3, there would be three accesses within 300 feet of each other, the third access serving the adjacent library. We suggest that the proponent make arrangements with the library to utilize their approach as a joint approach. As the hours of operation of the church and library would not coincide, we feel this would be an acceptable alternative to a new approach. The existing approach could also serve the new addition with minor changes in the internal road configuration. We were unable to locate a current permit on file for the existing road approach. Road approach permit No. M88-102 is currently in process for this approach. Existing surface water runoff from the State highway right-of-way must not be impeded by development of the proposal. The Department will not be responsible for noise attenuation if the subject property experiences noise levels in excess of the maximum allowed for the proposed land use. Advertising signs visible from an adjacent State highway must comply with the State Scenic Vistas Act of 1971, which is administered by the Department. For information regarding the signing regulations, contact the District 3 Traffic Operations office at 753-7221. Mike Byrne June 23, 1988 Page 2 Thank you for the opportunity to review the proposal.
