Lots 49 & 50, Oakland Beach Tracts
Dear Chairperson:.
Mr. Mark Fredson has requested a variance to allow a drainfield to be in-
stalled within 50 feet of an existing well and 50 feet from surface. water. .
There exists .a garage and a foundation of a previous residence on,this lot.
There is also a septic tank and an unverified drainfield. However ,-no
record can be..found to indicate the sewage system was ever approved by this
departiaent.;. Article VII Section 4.1 of the Mason County Sanitary. Code stip-
ulates a separation of'100 feet between a drainfield and wells and, .surface _ ;'
water. .. .
This office can find no paper work indicating that the sewage system was in-'
stalled and approved. There is no information on the nearest well located ' .
less ihan' 100 feet from 'the proposed sewage system. Depth of acceptable soil
and filterability Of that soil is, not known at this time. Therefore,. .this ;
office recommends denial of this variance due to the lick of justification '

Dear Dr. Yung:
Mr. Mark Fredson has requested a variance to allow a drainfield to be in-

no records can be found tb�_indicate that the drainfield was ever approved
by this department.
Article VII, Section 4.1 of the Mason County Sanitary Code stipulates the
separation of 100 feet between a drainfield and wells and surface water.
This office can find no paper work indicating that the sewage system was
installed and approved. There is no information on either of the wells
located less than 100 feet to the proposed sewage system. Depth of accept-
able soil and filterability of that soil is not known at this time. There-
fore, this office recommends denial of this variance due to lack of justif-
ication.
