Sincerely, Grace Miller Land Use Planner Mason County Planning Department 12/13/01 1 of 2 RLC2001-00130 Resource Lands & Critical Am SRO Evaluation 12/13/01 Case No.: RLC2001-00130 Comments The proposed building site was inspected on December 6, 2001 by Planning staff, Grace Miller and Kristin Riebli. There is a small wetland area along the road identified by standing water and the presence of wetland vegetation including.,spirea. There is another wetland located on the site, into the west side of the lot that appears to be a small bog. It appears to be located within the proposed parking area. The upland areas on the wetland edge contain salal, ferns, salmonberry, alder and fir. In order to impact these wetlands, as proposed, the applicants will need to contact a wetland biologist and have them delineate and categorize the wetland systems so that staff can determine whether they are regulated by the Mason County Resource Ordinance and if so, what permits will be necessary. A copy of the ordinance is enclosed and it explains the methodology used in categorizing wetlands. Once a report is complete, please send it to my attention in the Planning Department, PO Box 279, Shelton, WA 98584 for further review. Do you have a stormwater plan proposal for the site at this time? Please discuss your plans for stormwater control with your wetland biologist so that they are able to consider them in their report. If you have any questions, please let me know. At some point you will need to schedule a pre-application meeting with the County Permit Assistance Center for the proposal. The various staff representatives from the County offices who review your application would be present to answer your questions.
