PN 12231 14. 90010 - Tr.A of survey 3/143. Tr.A of SP #465. Dear Mr. Sagerson: Enclosed please find copy of comments received from the .Department of Ecology regarding the Determination of Nonsignificance issued for your proposal. The comments regarding water quality are similar to those which we discussed on the site. The Parking Ordinance which I gave you regulates drainage and parking. The Department of Transportation will review your parking, access and egress as well as drainage. The Mason County Building Department, the Public Works Department and- the Fire Marshall will also review your plans for , consistency with the County Parking Ordinance, Building and Fire Codes. Regarding the comments on wetlands, Mason County currently does not have wetland regulations which pertain to inland wetlands such as the small one on your site. The State is making recommendations based on the information submitted in the checklist and not having seen the site. The State does not have .regulatory authority regarding the.wetland on your site but does recommend that wetlands. be preserved whenever possible following the Governor's Policy on no net loss of wetlands.I believe that the size and value of the wetland on your site would put it under a class IV wetland in the State Is Four Class Rating, System. If the County were following the recommendations of the State. Guidelines, a special permit would be required to fill the wetland. But the County is not participating in such an Ordinance at this time. The small area to be filled appears to be of a lesser value as a, habitat and more likely a result of drainage. If you have any questions, please give the State a call at the numbers, listed in the letter. I will forward any additional comments received to you. Thank you.
