RE: Building Permit BLD95-1474
Dear Mr. Greene,
In August of 1995 a remodel at the fire station occurred
without benefit of the required permits . As a result, you applied
for an after-the-fact permit in October. This permit has been
ready for issuance since October 24, 1995 . It was requested that
the permit be sent to the Belfair Annex for issuance where it was
waiting until being returned to me in February of 1996 .
The Uniform Building Code, as adopted by Mason County, clearly
states : No building or structure regulated by this code shall be
erected, constructed enlarged altered repaired moved improved
removed, converted or demolished unless a separate permit for each
building or structure has first been obtained from the building
official . Once such a violation occurs, the file is referred to me
for follow up and to cooperate with the agent or owner to bring the
structure into compliance. Partial compliance was achieved when
the remodel permit was applied for but until the permit is issued,
the violation exists and remains an open enforcement case .
I have sent the file back to the Belfair Annex. Please make
the necessary arrangements to pick up the permit prior to JUKE 22,
1996.

department .
