Dear Mr. Manassee:
We have received and reviewed the drainage plans for the above proposal and have the following
comments:
1. Fill material placed within the Department's right-of-way should be compacted to 90%
of maximum density. A geotechnical report will not be required.
2. The drainage plans are unacceptable as designed. The proposed manhole and 12" pipe
to be attached to the existing cross culvert, as shown on Cross Section B, will not drain
properly, causing flooding during heavy precipitation, and endangering the highway.
The offsite water channeled under SR 3 by this culvert must be allowed to pass through
this site without impedance. Please revise and resubmit the drainage plans and
calculations for our review.
Thank you for the opportunity to review the above proposal. If there are any questions regarding
our comments, please contact Vicki Steigner at 357-2706.
Sincerely,
DALE C. SEVERSON, P.E.
Development Review Engineer
