RE: NW Cascade Belfair Satellite Site Development
Dear Mr. Baxter:
I received your letter of November 28, 2005, outlining the activities that will be conducted at the
NW Cascade Belfair satellite facility. Development of the site has been reviewed by Mason
County planning and/or development staff and meets all county requirements. The site is located
at 430 Log Yard Road, just off Highway 3 in Mason County and is zoned industrial.
As long as the activities outlined in your letter are the only ones conducted on site, specifically,
there is neither treatment of septage, nor cleaning of the portable toilets and tank storage of
pumped material is short term, coverage under the statewide permit for biosolids management
will not be necessary. Further, material removed from the storage tanks will only be taken to a
permitted septage management facility for further treatment.
Any incidental spills which take place at the Belfair site are to be reported to the Ecology
Southwest Region Biosolids Coordinator at(360) 407-6393. Any spill will be handled as
stipulated in the spill procedures document you provided.
If you have any questions or if I may be of further assistance, please contact me at the number
listed above.
Sincerely,
Wyn Hoffinan
Regional Biosolids Coordinator
