NOTIFICATION OF INCOMPLETE APPLICATION
Case No.: BLD2004-01862
A field inspection of the subject property was conducted on 12/10/2004
with the following results.
Due to the requirements of the Mason County Resource Ordinance,
Landslide Hazards Chapter 17.01.100 and the presence of slopes
greater than 40% and within 300 feet of the proposal a Geotechnical
Report will be needed.
Please provide the enclosed ordinance to your licensed engineer or
geologist so that they are aware of all of the requirements for
Geotechnical Reports per Chapter 17.01.100, section E. 5. The report
needs to address all of the requirements of this section. Missing
information will result in further delay in the processing of your building
permit.
The report must state that the hazards of the landslide area can be
overcome in such a manner as to prevent harm to property and public
health and safety, and must also assure the project will cause no
significant environmental impact. See Mason County Code 17.01.100,
E7.
It is planning staffs understanding that there is an existing geotechnical
report that references the same slope as it affected development on a
neighboring parcel. If this document can be referenced as relevant to
your site by the engineer or geologist who prepared it, planning staff
will review it accordingly. The reference should be in the form of a
copy of the original geotechnical report and a written statement by the
preparer referencing the earlier report as authoritative for this site also.
