BOX 186 5TH AND BIRCH 41A' C1C% SHELTON, WASHiNGTON 98584 VTT {H:/J'..{ ♦ August 2, 1978 Memo To: Board of County Commi loners ! From: Building Departmentil41vv",4 Re: Alderbrook Inn Alderbrook intends to open for use on August 24, 1978 for a national conference. About 280 people are expected to register. We are concerned that we will not be able to certify the facility for occupancy. The sprinkler system for fire protection has been tested twice and it is not working properly. There is no apparent effort to solve the problems. Alderbrook Inn will not be permitted to open until the sprinkler system is approved. This office will post "No Occupancy" signs on the building August 23, 1978. They will remain there until the Certificate of Occupancy is issued. The swimming pool has a problem since the deck has been denied. A railing will have to be installed on the seaward side of pool, or the doors permanently locked. If neither of these are accomplished, the pool will be posted for "No Occupancy" on August 23, 1978, Also. It is not my intention to spread doom and gloom about the project, but merely to warn the principals involved of the consequence of inaction. JEC:bc CC: Wesley Johnson Viking Sprinkler Rodewald, Inc.
