During the extremely heavy rains of Nov.and Dec.2006 heavy flows coming out of the storm water drainage system during low tides washed a deep trench down the beach.This trench has exposed two abandoned drain pipes and is beginning to undercut the bulkhead.This has created a hazard to resort guests.Also,a rough stone wall which marks the property line has partially fallen into the trench. To repair this damage approx.15 cu.yds.of large cobbles(6"to 10"in size)will be placed in the trench and then coverd with a sand and pea gravel mixture similar to the existing beach substrate.The fallen rock wall will be rebuilt in its original location. Materials will be shuttled in by a small rubber track dump truck along the beach via the Raikes property to the east.A small excavator and/or skip loader will be used to place the materials.
