Dear Mr.McGinnis:
We are very happy to inform you that the Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology) is
recognizing the Alderbrook Inn Wastewater Treatment Plant with a 2001 "Outstanding Wastewater
Treatment Plant" award.
Out of approximately 300 wastewater treatment plants, yours is one of 26 that have achieved 100 percent
compliance with their discharge permits in 2001. The wastewater discharge permit places limits on the
quantity and concentrations of contaminants that treatment plants may discharge. My staff evaluated the
treatment plants for compliance with effluent limits, monitoring and reporting requirements, spill
prevention planning, pretreatment, and other regulatory activities.
We are proud of the team effort that.you and your staff performed throughout 2001. Alderbrook Lin
Wastewater Treatment Plant is run by dedicated workers with operation, maintenance, engineering, and
administrative support that combined to ensure outstanding compliance. Qualified operators are critical
for successful plant operations and the protection of our state's water quality_
In the pant, award winners have chosen to plan special public events, such as city council meetings,to
receive their award. We, at Ecology, would be happy to support this recognition effort by attending the
event to officially present the award. Please contact Jeanna Ridner at 407-6270 no later than June 1 to
schedule an.award presentation.
Thanks again and congratulations!
Sincerely,
A
