RESOLUTION NO.
63 -89
A JOINT RESOLUTION relating to Mason County and the City of Shelton; adopting
the Province of Mio Li County, Republic of China as a sister county.
WHEREAS, the Province of Mio Li is of great importance in the commercial trade
balance of the United States; and
WHEREAS, the people of Mio Li County are and have been among the most trusted by
the people of the United States; and
WHEREAS, the commercial, cultural and other nongovernmental relations between the
American people and Mio Li County are now and have always been excellent and mutually
beneficial; and
WHEREAS, the people of Mason County and the City of Shelton wish to establish and
conduct numerous economic and cultural programs, transactions and other relations with the
people of Mio Li County; and
WHEREAS, Mason County products are believed essential for enhancing the trade
patterns which are developing between the United States and Mio Li County; and
WHEREAS, the Mason County Commission and City of Shelton, Mayor and Commission
believe it is the will and the pleasure of the people of Mason County and the City of Shelton
that Mio Li County be adopted as a sister county.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the members of the Board of Mason County
Commissioners and the Shelton City Commision:
The Province of Mio Li County is hereby adopted as a sister county to Mason
County and the City of Shelton.
