A resolution relating to an Interim Centennial Clean
Water Fund (Referendum 39) Planning and Design Grant
application.
WHEREAS, Mason County' s proposed project is for the replacement and
extension of the Hartstene Pointe WWTF outfall; and
WHEREAS, the existing outfall is to be replaced and extended in
order to not impact shellfish beds; and
WHEREAS, Mason County needs to meet the requirements of NPDES
Permit No. WA-003837-7 for construction of a secondary treatment
facility and is under consent order to provide secondary treatment;
and
WHEREAS, a hydraulic project approval has not yet been granted by
the Department of Fisheries for diffuser replacement due to their
policy that there be "no conditioned, restricted, or prohibited
harvest of shellfish" , due to the effluent zone of influence; and
WHEREAS, the cost of replacement and extension of the outfall is
eligible for 50k state matching grant funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County
Commissioners, that
1. The Chairperson of the Board is duly authorized to sign
said grant agreements, amendments, and other documents
relating to the Hartstene Pointe Wastewater Treatment
Facility,
2 . The Director of Community Development, or assign, is
authorized to sign any application for said Grant on
behalf of Mason County.
3 . The Director of Community Development or his assign, is
authorized to approve and sign the payment documents
necessary to receive reimbursement through the Interim
Centennial Clean Water Fund.
