UNDERGROUND PETROLEUM STORAGE TANKS
WHEREAS, the Board of Mason County Commissioners met on this date and
reviewed all information provided by the applicant business; and
WHEREAS,. the Board of Mason County Commissioners finds that the applicant
is the owner or operator of a business retailing petroleum products to the public; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Mason County Commissioners finds that other retail
suppliers of petroleum products are located remote from the local community; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Mason County Commissioners and Mary M. Knight
School District named as individuals responsible for negotiating a cost-plus basis
agreement with the applicant, if successful in receiving grant assistance, so that
government entities can purchase petroleum products under that agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Mason County Commissioners finds that the applicant
is capable of faithfully fulfilling the agreement required by the State of Washington for
providing financial assistance; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Mason County Commissioners finds that the applicant,
by selling petroleum products in this area, meets a vital local government, public health
safety need;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that by official action taken on the 2nd
day of November, 1993, the Board of Mason County Commissioners, certifies to the State
of Washington that Monica Drummond, dba Matlock General Store should be considered
for financial assistance to be used for corrective action and repair, replacement,
reconstruction, and improvement of its underground petroleum storage tank(s) and tank
site.
The completion of this certification form is a good faith effort on the part of Mason
County to certify that the continued operation of Monica Drummond dba Matlock General
Store petroleum underground storage tank(s) meets a vital local, public health or safety
need. This certification form does not represent comprehensive research of all applicable
laws and regulations. Monica Drummond dba Matlock General Store remains responsible
for fulfilling all laws, ordinances and regulations in effect at the time that work commences
at the UST site.
