The Board noted that the Appellant does not have a mailing address in Mason County. All mail is forwarded to a family member's Snohomish address. The Board found no preponderance of the evidence that the Assessor was in error. Therefore, the Board sustains the Assessor's denial of the Senior Citizen property tax exemption. The Appellants were represented by John Bartol at the hearing. IdaMae Jensen, Assessor's Representative, was present. The Appellant questioned the use of the four comparable sales used by the Assessor's Representative. These sales ranged in value from $943,568 to $1,522,460. The value of the subject property fell within this range. The Appellant provided no comparable sales to support his estimate of value. The Board found no clear, cogent, or convincing evidence that the Assessor was in error. Therefore, the Board sustains the value for the land at $207,000 and improvements at $806,025 for a total of $1,013,025 for the subject parcel.
