RESOLUTION NO
A RESOLUTION TO EXTEND THE EFFECTIVE PERIOD OF RESOLUTION NO.
119-96, WHICH IMPOSED A MORATORIUM ON LAND USE PERMITS
APPLICATIONS FOR CELLULAR COMMUNICATION FACILITIES .
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 119-96 was adopted by the Mason County
Board of Commissioners on November 12, 1996 . Such Resolution was
effective for a six month period with termination scheduled for
May 12, 1997 ; and
WHEREAS, the Resolution placed a moratorium on the processing of
land use applications for personal wireless services
communication facilities in the unincorporated are of Mason
County;. and
WHEREAS, the Mason County Board of Commissioners held a public
hearing, as required per RCW 36 . 70A. 390, on January 7, 1997 ; and
WHEREAS, more time is needed to study the issues inherent in the
construction and siting of wireless communications facilities and
develop appropriate land use controls for this emerging
technology;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
The Mason County Board of Commissioners hereby amend Resolution
No. 119-96 to extend by six months the effective period of the
moratorium whereby the County shall not process land use permit
applications for personal wireless services communication
facilities . The moratorium shall now remain in effect until
November 12, 1997 .
