A7 WHEREAS, the Mason County Interim Resource Ordinance No. 77-93 was adopted on August 3 , 1993 creating a new chapter, Chapter 17 . 01, in the Mason County Code; amending Ordinance 99-84, the County Environmental Policy Ordinance; and amending Mason County Title 16, the County Subdivision regulations; and WHEREAS, the Interim Resource Ordinance No. 77-93 , Chapter 17 . 01 . 220 states that this Chapter shall be considered interim in nature and shall expire within one year after adoption of the Comprehensive Plan, pursuant to RCW 36 . 70A; and WHEREAS, Mason County adopted its Comprehensive Plan on April 2 , 1996 ; and WHEREAS, on January 8, 1996 the Western Washington Growth Management Hearings Board issued Order No. 95-2-0073 (Final Decision and Order) remanding the Interim Resource Ordinance to Mason County and requiring that they bring it into 'compliance with the Growth Management Act; and WHEREAS, on June 25, 1996 Mason County adopted Ordinance No. 81- 96 which provided for amendments to certain sections of the Interim Resource Ordinance to bring it into compliance with the Growth Management Act and consistency with the Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, on September 6, 1996 the Western Washington Growth Management Hearings Board issued an Order Re ; Finding Of Invalidity And Second Finding Of Compliance And Continued Noncompliance; and WHEREAS, Mason County is currently preparing responses to the Order' s issued by the Hearing' s Board and by doing so are unable to finalize the Interim Resource Ordinance until they are completed; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: The Mason County Board of Commissioners shall enact a six month interim measure which extends the contents of Interim Resource Ordinance No. 77 . 93 and amendments thereto. During the period of this interim measure, the Mason County Department of Community Development shall continue to work on responses to the areas found out of compliance and invalid and will also conduct public hearings which will provide those interested the opportunity to testify for or against the proposed responses to the Western Washington Growth Management Hearing' s Board' s Orders .
