WHEREAS , the City of Shelton , by letter dated September 5 ,
2001 , has requested that the Comprehensive Economic Development
Strategy ( CEDS ) Committee recommend changes to the projects list ,
and
WHEREAS , the Economic Development Council of Mason County
serves as the CEDS Committee and , by board action , has concurred
with City of Shelton desires and recommended adding UGA planning
projects for Belfair and Allyn ; and
WHEREAS , Mason County Board of Commissioners RESOLUTION NO .
19 - 01 established the approved projects list and prioritization for
2001 ; and
WHEREAS , the CEDS Committee has forwarded the following
revised projects list :
First Priority : Regional Shelton Area Water and Sewer Project , $ 33
million . The project will develop a regional utilities system
serving the City of Shelton , Mason County , Port of Shelton ,
Washington State Patrol Academy , and Washington Corrections Center .
Wastewater pump stations and transmissions lines will be
constructed and upgraded to transfer sewage to the existing Shelton
Wastewater Treatment Plant . The treatment plant will be upgraded
and expanded to accommodate the increased flows from this system .
For the purposes of securing funding and support , individual and / or
collective elements of this plan shall be considered a part of this
prioritized project in the CEDS . - City of Shelton

NOW , THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED , that the Board of Mason
County Commissioners revises RESOLUTION NO . 19 - 01 by adopting the
above projects list . It is further requested that the EDC forward
this action to the Region 10 office of the Economic Development
Administration , U . S . Department of Commerce , the Governor ' s
Interagency Timber Task Force , the office of Forestry and Economic
Development in Portland , Oregon , the Washington Community Economic
Revitalization Team , and the City of Shelton .
