Amending Res. 63-00 Adding Chapter 5.8 Recruiting Expenses to Mason County Personnel Policy RESOLUTION NO . ® I AMENDING RESOLUTION NO . 63 -00 TO ADD CHAPTER 5 . 8 TO THE MASON COUNTY PERSONNEL POLICIES WHEREAS , RCW 36 . 32 . 120 (6 ) states that the Board of County Commissioners have responsibility for the care of county property and the management of county funds and business ; WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners believes that uniform personnel policies are beneficial to county managers and employees , NOW, THEREBY , BE IT RESOLVED , that the Board of County Commissioners does hereby add Chapter 5 . 8 (Attachment A) of the Mason County Personnel Policies to provide for the reimbursement of travel expenses for certain job applicants and reimbursement of moving expenses of certain new hires . Rogers , Clerk of the Board - � Wesley EJJohns66 , Commissioner i EV ED rRM : � y Michael Clift , Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Attachment A 5 . 8 RECRUITINGEXPENSES Reasonable expenses incurred by candidates for management level or hard to fill technical or professional level positions may be reimbursed when such candidates are invited by the appointing authority in writing to Shelton for personal interviews . Expenses will be limited to transportation, lodging and meals . The transportation reimbursement shall be limited to the amount the County would pay for round trip coach class air fare . The written invitation to the interview shall include an explanation of those expenses that will be reimbursed and the method for claiming reimbursement. Such expenses shall be approved by the Board of County Commissioners in advance . At the discretion of the Board of County Commissioners and with their approval in advance, reasonable moving expenses of a new employee in a management level or hard to fill technical or professional level position may be reimbursed . Such reimbursement shall not exceed $ 5 , 000 . Moving expenses shall mean the cost of moving household goods, furniture, clothing and other personal effects of the new employee . To be eligible for reimbursement of moving expenses the new employee must agree in writing to refund to the County such moving expenses if they voluntarily terminate their employment within one year of their hire date .
