Establishing Public Hospital District No. 2RESOLUTION No. 8 9 — 0 7 A RESOLUTION CONSIDERING THE PETITION TO ESTABLISH A MASON COUNTY PUBLIC HOSPITAL DISTRICT NO. 2 WHEREAS, RCW 70.44 establishes a process for forming a hospital district; and WHEREAS, a petition has been received from the Citizen's Committee for the formation of Mason County Public Hospital District No. 2; WHEREAS, a Certificate of Sufficiency has been received from the Mason County Auditor stating the total number of qualified electors signing the petition is more than ten percent of the voters of the proposed district who voted at the last general election as required under RCW 70.44.030; WHEREAS, the Mason County Commissioners held a public hearing on July 24, 2007 after publishing the petition and notice of hearing in the local newspaper of general circulation; WHEREAS, the Mason County Commissioners have found no evidence that the inclusion of voting precincts Belfair #1, #2, #3, #4, #5 and #6, Tahuya and Dewatto in the proposed Hospital District #2 is either illegal or unjust; and WHEREAS, the Mason County Commissioners have found that the election of five hospital district commissioners would be beneficial to the district if the district is approved by the voters: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mason County Commissioners hereby submit to public vote, at the next general or special election, the question of whether to establish Mason County Public Hospital District No. 2, which would include all lands lying within the currently existing boundaries of the voting precincts of Belfair # 1, #2, #3, #4, #5 and #6, Tahuya and Dewatto. The boundaries of the proposed District follow existing precinct boundaries and do not divide any voting precinct as required by RCW 70.44.030. NOW THEREFORE IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED to provide for the election of 5 (five) Mason County Public Hospital District No. 2 Commissioners contemporaneously with the question of whether or not to form the district pursuant to RCW 70.44. Each of the Public Hospital District No. 2 Commissioners shall be elected as at -large representatives of the entire hospital district. DATED this 24th day of July, 2007. ATTEST: Ate? Rebec S.
