Meeting Minutes
August 18, 2022
The regular meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chair Sue Ickes.
Attendance: Sue Ickes, Chair and Mark Nault, Vice-Chair
Others: Chief Kevin Hansen and Becky Rogers
Business:
1. Approval of Minutes: July 21, 2022 regular meeting minutes
Cmmrs. Nault/Ickes moved and seconded to approve the July 21, 2022 regular meeting minutes.
Motion carried unanimously.
2. Chief Examiner Update
2.1. Position Tracking - 15 vacant funded positions: Community Service Officer-1;
Corrections Deputy-8; Deputy Sheriff-3; Finance Manager-1; and Support
Specialist-2
2.2. Approval of the revised Patrol Lieutenant position description and job posting
to include language that the bachelor's degree is preferred, rather than
mandatory.
Cmmrs. Nault/Ickes moved and seconded to approve the revised Patrol Lieutenant position
description and job posting. Motion carried unanimously.
3. Sheriff's Office Update
3.1. Corrections - Chief Hanson announced they are hiring a lateral corrections
deputy employee. The candidate was previously employed by the county and
had left the agency last fall.
Two entry level corrections deputy candidates are in background.
The county is in negotiations with the union for the 2022 collective bargaining
agreement for the corrections deputies and support staff. This is going to
mediation in September.
3.2. Patrol - No report.
3.3. Support Staff - A Finance Manager candidate is in background.
4. Adjourn - The meeting adjourned at 5: 14 p.m.
