Meeting Minutes
February 17, 2022
The regular meeting was called to order at 5:02 p.m. virtually by Chairperson Ickes.
Attendance: Sue Ickes, Chair, William Kendrick, Commissioner; Mark Nault, Vice-Chair
Others: Tami Beyer, Deb Gould, and Becky Rogers.
Business:
1. Approval of Minutes: January 20, 2022 regular meeting minutes.
Cmmr. Kendrick/Nault moved and seconded to approve the January 20, 2022 meeting minutes as
presented. Motion carried unanimously.
2. Chief Examiner Update
2.1. Position Tracking - 9 vacant funded positions: Community Service Officer-2;
Corrections Deputy-4; Deputy Sheriff-1; and Support Specialist 2 (aka Records
Specialist)-2 .
2.2. Approval to eliminate the Civil Service Oral Board and establish the
Community Service Officer Eligibility List with the six names unranked. This
is to fill two vacant positions.
Cmmr. Kendrick/Nault moved and seconded to approve eliminating the Civil Service oral board
and establish the eligibility list with the six names ranked. Motion carried unanimously.
2.3. Approval of Promotional Announcement - Patrol Corporal and Patrol Sergeant
Cmmr. Nault/Kendrick moved and seconded to approve the promotional announcement for
Patrol Corporal and Patrol Sergeant. Motion carried unanimously.
3. Sheriff's Office Update
3.1. Corrections - n/a
3.2. Patrol - Chief Beyer presented three items. 1) Request that there be an
additional eligibility list for Patrol Deputy-CJTC certified, in addition to the
lateral, and new hire (entry level) lists. The CJTC certified list would include
candidates who have completed the Criminal Justice Training Commission
(CJTC) Basic Law Enforcement Academy (BLEA), but are still on probation
when they apply. 2) Request review of the Civil Service Rules 5.7 & 7.1. to
allow the maximum certified names available to fill vacant positions.
Currently, a cumulative total of five names are certified from the two lists to
fill one vacant position. This is tabled until the next regular meeting to allow
time for research. 3) In addition to the one vacant position noted above,
there is a recent resignation in Patrol.

3.3. Support Staff - Chief Beyer reported there is one candidate in background.
Additional candidates will be interviewed.
3.4. The meeting adjourned at 5: 18 p.m.
