Unitec to provide lifting equipment and all rigging. All conduit work, if any needed, along with 110VAC conduit, wire and terminations are to be performed by a licensed electrician, and are additional to Unitec's bid. Installation will include: • Installation of the scales into existing foundation. Prevailing wage rates are included. • Calibration of scales upon completion. • Obtain the "seal of certification" from the Dept. of Weights and Measures • Instruction and Training of personnel in the operation of weighing systems • Warranty as addressed in this document. • Installation by Weights and Measures certified and licensed technicians. Along with voltage regulation, they provide surge protection and EMI/RFI filtration. PRICE Included, no charge LIGHTNING PROTECTION AND GROUNDING Option A — Basic Plan Includes transient voltage protectors on the load cell summing boards which help prevent large voltages from damaging load cells and digital indicator. Grounding of the weighing system includes the installation of a galvanized grounding rod adjacent to the scale and a grounding strap bridging the weighbridge to the rod. These measures have proven to be very effective in significantly reducing both the frequency and degree of damage caused by lightning. However, there is no absolute protection against direct lightning strikes. Such repairs or replacements shall be performed without charge during the normal weekday working hours and at Unitec's convenience. NOTE: Emergency service available 24 hrs. per day, seven days a week. 12 Months Parts Replacement Warranty Unitec will make available for replacement any part which in Unitec's judgment is defective in material or workmanship within twelve (12) months from the date the installation is completed or fifteen (15) months from the date of shipment, whichever is sooner. Load Cell Warranty Unitec warrants that all load cells will conform to current published specifications and be free of defects in workmanship and materials for a period of five years from date of shipment from the factory. Any item in question must be returned to the factory, shipping prepaid. After examination, the factory will determine if the warranty claim is valid and whether the item will be repaired or replaced. Weighbridge Warranty Unitec warrants, to the original purchaser, the truck scale weighbridge against faulty workmanship and defective materials for a period of (5) years from the date of original installation. This warranty covers the steel weighbridge structure only, and does not extend to electronic components, concrete quality or other items that make up the total scale system. If the steel structure fails to conform to this warranty, Unitec will repair or replace, at its option, the non -conforming member, subject to the conditions that a.) examination of weighbridge by Unitec representative confirms that the non -conformity actually exists, and was not caused by accident, misuse, neglect, alteration, improper installation, improper repair, or improper testing. Unitec will be the sole judge of all alleged non -conformities; b.) weighbridge has not been modified, altered or changed by any person other than Unitec or its duly authorized repair agent; c.) Unitec will have a reasonable time to repair or replace the defective equipment; d.) Unitec will not be liable for the cost of any repairs made by others. UNITEC IS NOT LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. UNITEC AND BUYER AGREE THAT UNITEC'S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE LIABILITY HEREUNDER IS LIMITED TO REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF SUCH GOODS. IN ACCEPTING THIS WARRANTY, THE BUYER WAIVES ANY AND ALL OTHER CLAIMS TO WARRANTY. NOTE: All warranties are contingent upon Unitec Corporation performing all service work during the first five (5) years after installation of weighing equipment.
