Call Meeting to Order: Chair Danielle Skeeters Lindsey called the meeting to order at 5:03 p.m.
Roll Call: Commissioners; Chair Danielle Skeeters Lindsey, Louann Davis, Chief Examiner
Dawn Twiddy, Chief Jan Shepherd
Business:
A. Approval of Minutes: Commissioner Kelly/Skeeters moved and seconded approval of
the February 19,2015 regular meeting minutes.Motion carried with all in favor.
B. Chief Examiner Update
a. Resignation of Commissioner Louann Davis—Louann Davis has formally
resigned from the Civil Service Commission Board. Chief Twiddy will brief
the County Commissioners and get a News Release on their Agenda to solicit
for the open position.
b. Record Specialist Testing Process—Chief Twiddy announced that there were
several candidates that sent in their application for the position but the emails
were caught in the spam mailbox. These applicants were all contacted and
offered to test for the position. The process should be completed and the top
three certified by March 23, 2015. Currently there are 15 people on the list
that have passed both the written and oral exams. Any additional applicants
that pass will be also be added to the list prior certifying the top three.
c. Open Position Update—Chief Twiddy reported the following open positions:
1.5 FTE CSO positions, I FTE Clerk Position (retirement position), 8 CO's (5
Female—3 either), Chief Haugen reported that he had offered a conditional to
a female and was waiting for her to complete the last two steps before he can
hire her.
Chief Shepherd discussed the open positions to ensure we have the same
totals. Chief Ehrich and Undersheriff Barrett questioned the FTE count for the
Deputies. It was their understanding that the Sheriff's Office was approved for
I new deputy position in the 3 rd quarter and I in the 4th quarter of 2015.
Chief Twiddy, said she would look into it and get clarification then follow up
at the next Commissioner meeting in April.
C. Sheriffs Office Update
a. Extra Help Litter Crew Position—Chief Shepherd discussed the need to hire
an extra help person to assist with the litter crew until the CSO positions are
filled.
b. CSO Testing—Chief Shepherd and Chief Twiddy discussed the need for
creating a new CSO Eligibility List.
