Mason County Burn Restrictions - 2021/06/23 NEWS RELEASE June 23, 2021 MASON COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT 615 W Alder Street SHELTON, WA 98584 TO: KMAS, KRXY, SHELTON-MASON COUNTY JOURNAL,THE OLYMPIAN, SHELTON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, NORTH MASON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, CITY OF SHELTON, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL,THE SUN RE: Mason County Burn Restrictions TEMPORARY COUNTY-WIDE OUTDOOR BURN RESTRICTIONS* EFFECTIVE oo:o1 AM,June 26—UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE The Mason County Community Development Director, as acting Fire Marshal, and in partnership with the Mason County Fire Chiefs'Association, has determined that current weather conditions within Mason County have created substantial fire dangers and that there is a need to enact restriction on outdoor burning to all lands regulated by Mason County. This burn restriction applies to OUTDOOR BURNING, including land clearing,yard debris, and permit burns; and does NOT include prohibition of attended recreational fires,charcoal briquette barbeques.The use of gas and propane barbeques will continue to be allowed under the restriction. *Lands protected by Department of Natural Resources(DNR) may have different restrictions. To find out more information or determine if you are in a Department of Natural Resources area visit www.dnr.wa.gov or call the DNR South Puget Sound Region at 36o-825-1631..As of 000i, 6/25/21 and until further notice,there will be a RULE BURN BAN due to current fuel conditions and forecasted fire weather event.A rule burn is"Afire that does not require a written permit has established size limitations based on time of year and the county within which the burning occurs.
