Assessor’s Notice of Value - 2021/06/15 Mason County Vickie A.King Assessor Chief Deputy 411 N 51h11 PO Box J Phone (360)427-9670 "° Shelton WA 98584 Fax (360)427-7792 PRESS RELEASE The annual Assessor's Notice of Value will be mailed to Mason County taxpayers on June 15, 2021. In accordance with RCW 84.40.045 &WAC 458-12-360, the Assessor is required to notify taxpayers of any change in the true and fair value of their property. Assessed values are based on sales in your local neighborhood, and can vary throughout surrounding communities within Mason County. Mason County sales continue to increase significantly over the last few years so property owners will likely see this reflected on their Notice of Value. Sales and neighborhood information, along with the physical inspection area, can be found on our website at www.masoncountywa.gov/assessor as well as additional information regarding the assessment process. In order to save the County several thousand dollars, Notices of Value will once again be printed in postcard format. In addition, if you have not already done so, property owners may sign up to receive their annual property valuation notice via email, instead of through the USPS. The decision to "Go Paperless" is environmentally friendly and will save additional taxpayer dollars in staff time and postage. Visit www.enoticesonline.com to learn more. If you do not agree with the value of your property, please contact our office to review your Notice of Value. Property owners who are unable to resolve their concerns directly with the Assessor's Office may appeal their value to the Board of Equalization (BOE) within 30 days of the date of the valuation notice. The Assessor's Office will be open to the public for in person services during regular business hours of 9 a.m. — 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Assessor's office strongly encourages continued use of our shared drop box, mail, online or phone contact options
